One of the highlights of the year for our Year 7 students is the annual camp in Term 1 at Currimundi Active Recreation Centre which is situated on the mouth of Currimundi Lake, at Caloundra. The beautiful white sands of Currimundi Beach provide the opportunity for students to participate in a wide range of activities including kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, canoeing and body boarding. In addition, camp staff facilitate activities at the campsite which encourage team work, problem solving and participation.
The camp is run by The Queensland Government Department of National Parks and the fully qualified staff run all activities in the three day Adventure Package designed for young adolescents.
The Year 7 Camp is generally held early in the school year with the aim of providing opportunities for students to form new friendships and develop cohesion as a year level.
