Siena Firsts Compete at QISSN

Over the June/July holidays, our Siena Firsts netball team once again competed in the annual Queensland Independent Secondary Schools’ Netball (QISSN) competition. After winning the Division 4 last year, our aim this year was to move up to Division 3, and to be competitive at this level. Our Pool game results during the first two days were excellent, and we won all seven games. This put us at the top of our pool, and into Division 3. We then played St Luke’s Anglican College in the Quarter Final, which we won 33-23. The Semi-final against Southern Cross was our only loss for the carnival, but it meant that we missed out on the play-off for first and second and had to play St Michael’s College for third/fourth. This was a great game, and the girls came from five down to win the match 29-27 and finished third in Division 3. It was a great finish to the carnival, winning nine games out of ten. Special thank you to our coaches Annie McArdle and Nikki Michael; chief supporter Tori McArdle; our parent helpers: Kate Holzer, Michelle Leahy and Tracey Meyer and our driver/helper Brittany McArdle.

CONGRATULATIONS to all our team members:
