2019 SCSSRU Girls Victory

Siena Catholic College U18 Girls Rugby team have taken home the Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Rugby Union (SCSSRU) Girls Tens Shield for the 11th year in a row.  Our undefeated Siena team took on a spirited St John's Navy team in the Grand Final Division 1 fixture. The battle on Tuesday 11 September between the two schools on the Sunshine Coast Stadium Field was awesome to watch with the score at full time going to Siena 34-24.  Jada Cleary was named Player of the Match receiving the Mieke Fortune Medal.

Our U14s came back from 5th place to take on minor premiers beating the undefeated James Nash SHS 31-27, a battle right to the end.  Unfortunately our dominant U16's fell to last years premiers St John's Navy who found form at the right time of the season.  The girls have finished the season as minor premiers; still an amazing accomplishment!

Our Siena women all put on a great display of physicality and professionalism and the dedication of the girls to their squads were superb,  It truly was a terrific night and a great celebration of Girls Rugby on the Sunshine Coast.

Big thanks to our Girls Rugby Union Coordinator Miss Libby McGraw for a successful season for our Siena Wolves! #sienacc22019 #sienasport #sienarugby #sienawolves
