2019 Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod

A fun 21 days of competition at the 2019 Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod came to an end last week. Close to 150 Siena students participated in a wide variety of large group, solo and party events across the 6 sections; Piano, Strings, Wind and Brass, Speech and Drama, Vocal and Large Ensembles. 

Congratulations to every student who stepped up to perform this year. Participation takes commitment to prepare and practice and courage to perform and you are all to be acknowledged for these virtues regardless of if an award was received or not. 
Special mention to the following prize winners this year and to all our large ensembles who so proudly represented our school.
  • Big Band – 1st Prize in Secondary Stage Band B
  • Choir – 2nd Prize in Secondary Choir
  • Alyssa Somerville – 2nd Prize in Mime, 3rd Prize in Duologue and Vocal Solo 13 years, Highly Commended in Musical Theatre 13 years and Very highly Commended in Vocal Championship 14 years and under.
  • Ruby Daly – 2nd Prize in Brass Solo 16-18 years and 1st Prize in Brass Trio
  • Junior Guitar Quartet (Harry Caine, Lachlan Strom, John Clavey-George, Cooper Lawrence) – 3rd Prize in 15 years and under Quartet
  • Senior Guitar Quartet (Hudson Glynn, Brayden Dwan, Kyle Hamilton, Luke Sharkey) – Highly Commended in 18 years and under Quartet
  • 2 x Vocal Ensembles
  • String Ensemble and String Quartet
  • Concert Band
  • Year 9 Ensemble
