19SCC - Principal Graeme Hight

Our much loved and respected principal Mr Graeme Hight has officially retired after 19 years at Siena Catholic College.  The celebrations, tributes and farewells were moments for the Siena Community to enjoy, reflect and say thank you to wonderful man, educator and leader.

Graeme dedicated his life to bettering the education of students, starting at the Siena Catholic College in 1998 as deputy to founding principal Bryan Baker.  When Bryan passed away, Graeme was appointed principal in 2004. Working across schools in Queensland, Graeme has worked in Catholic education for almost 40 years. He is referred to as always approachable to staff and students and he will be missed.

The looming end of Graeme's contract signalled that it was the right time to retire but he is not done with college life yet.  Graeme has produced the school's musical every two years and will continue to do so next year, and will also be involved with a cultural immersion trip to Fiji with the travelling students.
